Man, 21, arrested on suspicion of rape after pensioner sexually assaulted

Police say they’ve arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of rape after a 70-year-old lady was sexually assaulted final weekend.

The girl was attacked on Almond Road, Farnworth after leaving Market Road simply after midnight.

The incident has shocked native residents, and the girl had been supported by specialist officers because the incident.

In the present day, August 26, a Higher Manchester Police (GMP) Bolton South have introduced they’ve arrested a person linked to the crime.

A GMP spokesperson mentioned: “We’ve arrested a person on suspicion of the rape of a 70-year-old lady over the weekend.

“Our plain-clothed officers had been on patrol in Farnworth on Wednesday evening after they noticed a suspicious trying man within the city centre who was strolling away from them earlier than he was stopped.

“Enquiries had been carried out and a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

“He stays in custody.

“The sufferer has been stored up to date and continues to be supported by our specialist officers and companions businesses.”
